Putting Geography Theory into Practice
Year Nine and Ten Students have had the opportunities to carry out field work in a variety of locations this half term.
Students have been able to put theory into practice in preparations for their GCSE Geography studies on a number of field trips this half term.
In June, Year 9 and 10 students stayed at the Castlehead Field Centre, Grange-over-Sands, exploring the glacial landscapes of the Lake District, and studying human Geography in Morecambe.
Last week, 60 Year 10 students completed the field work studies they will need for their examinations next year, during a trip to Redcar and Newcastle.
Students gathered data to test their hypothesis on 'Groynes alter both beach profile and beach material' in Redcar, and then whether 'Regeneration has had a positive impact on the Newcastle Quayside.'
